Site History:
Gestation, late 2001 - fall 2003
Ever since I was about 16 (way back in sophomore year of high school, lol), I had wanted to do a website. I learned all the stuff about it, printed off stuff from Webmonkey and the like, but I had no idea what to make the site about. My personal life at the time was so non-interesting that I figured most people would be bored to tears with a site about me. The idea sort of died and sort of went into dormancy for two years.
Then, in late 2002, enter Yu-Gi-Oh!. My brain latched onto it like a kitten to catnip, and soon I found myself completely inspired by it. However I had no idea what to do with the lyric parodies and funnies I was producing, so I let them languish on my computer for about six months. Then I went off to college in the fall of 2003, and got exposed to fast Internet for the first time.
With the new speed of the Internet, I now was able to view all the Yu-Gi-Oh! fansites at a faster rate, and as I did I grew more and more inspired. So inspired, in fact, that I suddenly had an epiphany: why not make my own site? In a rush of enthusiasm, I relearned the bits of HTML that I had picked up two years earlier, and started scoping out hosting sites, looking for the one that would best host me. I settled on Tripod--their Pro plan allowed for 50 megabytes of space for only 8.95 a month, and plus, my domain name came free with the plan.
