The Revival
It was kind of weird watching Yu-Gi-Oh! episodes after my heated obsession with Kaiba had simmered down quite a bit. I wasn't as ecstatic about seeing him in the episodes, and wasn't as pissed about missing episodes. But something happened in June that changed my mind, as my family and I were vacationing at the beach.
My mom just happened to spot an ad for the Yu-Gi-Oh! movie being aired at 8:30 one night on Cartoon Network (which I can't get at home because all we have is network TV--which is one more reason why I watch the dub). Since I had never seen the Yu-Gi-Oh! movie, I wanted to tune in. (And yes, I know, I was a horrible fan for not watching it in the theaters when it first came out, but I had a legitimate reason--I was moving into my college dorm room on the weekend that it came out, and I had six classes and no car to get to a movie theater that week. Sucked, but I lived, LOL.)
Anyhoo, I plunked down on the couch and watched the movie, and OH MY GOD. I had a mini-revival in my fangirlism for Kaiba the moment he stepped onscreen. I don't care that he was mostly the bad guy--he makes one of the sexiest bad guys ever. w00t! Anubis was kind of forgettable, in my opinion, but I about went nuts when he grabbed Kaiba and threw him aside like a rag doll. I was like "WTF?! I will WHOOP your ASS for that, muscle man!" (I think I scared a few people at the hotel...but no biggie. XD)
In short, the Yu-Gi-Oh! movie really revived my interest in the show (and in everyone's favorite sexy CEO, of course). I had heard so much bullshit about how it was so horrible and no one should watch it because it was so laughably stupid, but I loved every minute of it. Now where's my newly-bought DVD so I can screencap more of His Sexiness...
