Blue Medicine
After you said you were sorry,
I looked down at the cards in my hand
And I smiled
Thanks to Graceful Charity, I now held 3 Blue Medicines,
1200 points that I could restore to myself, and to you
You looked warily at me from across the dueling field;
I think you were expecting me to flip up Just Desserts,
Princess of Tsurugi, or another Life-Point-deducting card
And perhaps it would have been another duelist's wish
To punish you for the wrong you committed against me
But you said you were sorry,
And you didn't need a slap in the face and a rejection
You needed forgiveness from me more than anything
And I must admit your guilt for playing such damaging cards against me
Was far better revenge than playing Just Desserts would have been
So in quick succession, I played my three Blue Medicines,
Each one restoring both our Life Point totals by 400 points
And now the hurt is lesser within our hearts for it
Though I don't know if we will ever be right again,
At least this helps the cause, and is a good start
My admitted bitterness vanishes along with your admitted guilt,
And we are reunited, at least in friendship
It's much more than I could have hoped for at this late stage
But you said you were sorry, and I forgive you
It's all in the game, as the saying goes
